STATEMENT
Heffernan’s conceptual underpinning in his approach to curation is to allow entertainment to take place. Humour and folly are often found intertwined with more aspirational or serious works. Audience understanding, interaction and experience is an essential avenue which Heffernan explores and utilizes to his advantage. Subversion of boundaries, issues of territory and dominance between artworks are devices which are used to unpack and challenge the experience of viewing.
