This was originally the site of Sans Souci Plantation. Sans Souci means "without worry" in French. It's now fairly industrialized with grain silos and other manufacturing nearby. This was the second painting I made of the barges. I painted this over two days, painting during the same time of day, though the light was somewhat different.
