A plein air painting at the salt mine utilizing my new approach to painting plein air using an abstract underpainting. I love the pastel background. I situated myself on the top of my favorite hill. There is a series of trees I can see that are on the top of another ridge beside the one I stand on to gaze out over the vast canyon of the salt mine.
