When I first began painting, I was captivated by the beauty of wisteria and discovered a photograph by Galina Samoylovich that sparked my inspiration. I started the painting in 2019, but for years it resisted completion, lingering unfinished until 2025 when the vision finally came together.
What drew me most were the colors—the luminous contrast of violet and gold, the gentle harmony of teal against yellow. These tones seemed to sing to one another, creating both vibrancy and balance. The intricate details of the window’s woodwork introduced another layer of charm, grounding the composition and offering the eye a place to rest amid the cascade of blossoms.
