The Project [Biotope Contained] emphasizes on environmental aspects
within our existence.
Mainly influenced by the artist’s life in the remote jungle of the PENINSULA DE OSA / COSTA RICA
Forged from steel in 1993, this large sculpture bearing the same title, stands as a striking testament to the fusion of disparate realms—industrial and natural.
It encapsulates the essence of two worlds: the hard-core industrial phase of modernity and the lush, vibrant fragments of rainforest that nourished the artist's spirit during more then two decades of a life in the jungle. The painting emerges as a sensorial experience, inviting viewers to contemplate the interplay between human ingenuity and the raw beauty of nature. With its intricate detailing and powerful presence, it feels as if "the dish is served," completing a narrative that has long yearned for resolution, a harmonious blend of steel and verdant life that resonates deeply within the observer.
This edition is based on the original steel sculpture “The Last Supper” [M457] and the original painting with the same title [FF112].
The editions are derived from original paintings, installations, photographs and live performances, showcasing a unique blend of artistic expression.
Each artwork is a fusion of printing techniques and manual interventions with a variety of media such as oil, dry media and acrylic on canvas.
This application on canvas enhances the tactile quality of the work, bridging the gap between printing and traditional art forms, providing the viewers with a tangible connection to the artist's creative process.
Each artwork within an edition has a slight difference due to the manuel interventions which makes them unique.
The editions are signed as, for example: x- 100, limited to 100 pieces while the x refers to each piece in a non hierarchical order giving the exact same value to each piece of the edition independent from their dimensions.
