Hi!
I have been working professionally as a children's illustrator in both trade and educational books since 1991, after finishing a BFA at Concordia University in Montreal, Québec, Canada in spring 1985.
I especially love drawing children and animals, exploring emotions particularly.
I have loved ceramics since having excellent highschool classes at Sheldon-Williams Collegiate in Regina, Saskatchewan, and continued to take classes at Concordia along with my printmaking, drawing, and painting. I went to Banff School of Fine Arts in Ceramics fall 1988-spring 1989 but did more multimedia than clay work.
Since I work more and more on computers and less by hand, as our industry becomes more technological, I wanted to get my fingers back into something tactical, and started doing ceramics again in a home studio in January 2016. I'm having lots of fun working in both porcelain and stoneware, handbuilding wee animals, and throwing on the wheel.
I sell at craft sales and on Etsy, https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/ScatteredFingers , and am looking forward to starting to teach as well as produce.
My home studio is in Martensville, Saskatchewan, Canada, just north of Saskatoon. I share my home with my homeschooled son, my calico cat Alley, and my Great Pyrenees mix dog, Bella.
