Working from her Palm Springs California studio, Kippi creates work that is poetic and subdued yet revealing and evocative as she layers rich colors onto organic materials such as raw canvas, raw linen and wood panel.
Her work consists of oil paints collected during her travels here and abroad, cold wax medium, graphite, charcoal, oil stick and desert sand she collects while hiking.
Her finished pieces are typically a minimal color palette with expressive intentional line work, surface texture created subtly within her layered approach painting technique and unexpected moments of color which are revealed intentionally during her process using potters carving tools and sandpaper. Kippi's body of work is innovative in her approach preferring to paint flat and work around the surface adding layers from many different perspectives.
