This piece became more stitch-heavy than some of the others in this series. I didn't know it would when I started it, which might sound strange, but I have found that at some point during the creation of a piece it ceases to be guided by the external idea that I started with and becomes itself, with its own internal needs and direction. At that point, I follow it and see where it wants to go. The soft cloth and beautiful, soft thread--most of it is a silk/wool blend, lovely to work with--impelled me to keep stitching. North Table Mountain has a generous roundish form that kept me going.
