This painting was inspired by a quiet morning hike to a hidden cove near Alicante, Spain, during a family trip. My mother was born and raised in Spain, and my grandfather, a Spanish impressionist painter, was the first to teach me how to paint. Growing up, I spent many summers in Valencia, where I developed a deep appreciation for the light, colors, and landscapes of the region.
The cove I discovered was peaceful and untouched, with a pebble beach, small boats, and an old abandoned house nestled into the hillside. I took a photo of the scene and later painted it from memory and image, aiming to capture the calm beauty and sense of discovery I felt that day.
Costa Blanca is both a tribute to my family’s heritage and a reflection on how place and memory shape my creative journey.
