There is a moment just before a wave barrels when everything holds still. The air thickens, the energy gathers, and time seems to pause. Barreling Wave is my way of capturing that tension—the beauty and power held in motion.
As a surfer and painter, I’m drawn to the rhythm of the ocean. Surfing puts you inside the wave’s energy; painting lets you observe and translate it. Both require presence and trust.
This piece came from memory and feeling more than from reference. I focused on the light, the shadow, and the force that lives inside the water. Each brushstroke mirrors the breathwork I’ve learned through yoga—steady, intentional, and in flow.
Barreling Wave reflects the moment you let go, fully in tune with something greater than yourself.
