Portraying whispering moments to challenging paradigms of social mobility through mixed media and collaborative art.
Message"The Day Everything and Nothing Made Sense" is a painting about letting go: of my fears, of my ego and of my control. The visual tension and state of conflict is conveyed with bold strokes, rubbed out faces, and evident shapes.
I was in Tanzania in February, my 13th year traveling to and from, and realized how much I used to pride myself on my swift and sustainable actions and my perfect eyesight, particular aspects that were no longer there with me. I was utterly obsessed and curious on how to handle this different me. Inquisitive about everything but confident about nothing, how would I quickly dodge a vehicle if I needed too, read the tiny text on the customs form, remember all the names of our talent search participants, find a bathroom in an emergency, tolerate the unpredictable situations that I was surely to encounter on this journey; obsessing about all the things that used to come so naturally.

For me, creating has always been a companion, allowing me to make sense of seemingly uncontrolled situations through controlled mediums.
