Debuting at James Clar’s US Museum Solo exhibition titled “Powers of Ten” at the Weisman Museum 2025. These artworks are large banners created on site at the Eames House with support from the Eames Foundation.

The natural sunlight passing through the Eames House windows was used to expose large cyanotypes. This recreated the outline of their windows on a 1:1 scale. The artist was interested in the unique grid of their windows and how they framed sections of the natural world outside, making the house and its windows a system of measurement. The artist imagined Charles and Ray standing by the windows, looking out, and coming up with new applications of technology whose modernist influence on art, design, and architecture still impact us today.

Additionally, the banners are jusi fabric (made from silk and abacá fiber) that was locally sourced from the Philippines. This fabric is often used in traditional Barong Tagalog clothing. The translucency of the fabric allows you to see through the windows of the artwork itself.

With the segments made from captured sunlight that’s been ‘filtered’ through the Eames House architecture, and impressed onto the locally sourced fabric from the Philippines the artwork becomes a conversation about (Western and technological) systems of measurement and its implication on cultural identity.
