This stunning vintage 1950s gold vermeil sterling silver and yellow enamel orchid flower brooch was created by the Norwegian artist Aksel Holmsen, who is well known for his modernist enameled silver jewelry. The orchid flower with stem measures 2 1/2 inches long (64 mm). The orchid measures 1 1/4 x 7/8 inches (32 x 22 mm). Marked, with the artist’s hallmark: NORWAY STERLING 925 S. Weight: 7.5 grams.
