“TAKIGAWA OF THE OGIYA” UCHIDA VERSION COLOR WOODBLOCK PRINT AFTER THE JAPANESE ARTIST HOSODA EISHI (1756-1829)
This color woodblock print image, titled “Takigawa of the Ogiya, at the First Sale of the New Year Celebration in the Parlor” from the series “A Comparison of Selected Beauties of the Pleasure Quarters”, was created by the Japanese artist Hosoda Eishi circa 1794-95.
PLEASE NOTE: This woodblock print is not a lifetime printing, it is a posthumous 20th century printing after the original by the artist Eishi. Published by Uchida Art, it bears the "Uchida version" publisher’s seal in the margin lower left.
Printed in colors plus printed silver mica background, the woodblock image size measures 11 3/4 x 8 1/8 inches. The sheet size with margins measures 13 x 9 1/2 inches. The woodblock print comes unframed.
