This multi-plate color aquatint etching features the central square in the city of Munich, Germany. Marienplatz has been the city’s prominent public square since 1158. The etching is by the Austrian artist Josef Eidenberger. It is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right: Eidenberger, and titled in pencil below the image lower left: München, Marienplatz. Edition size and date created is unknown. The image size of this etching measures 12 x 9 1/8 inches with a plate mark size measuring 12 3/4 x 9 5/8 inches. The etching is printed on a cream color wove paper, the sheet with margins measures 17 x 13 1/8 inches. The etching comes unframed.
