This large mid-century modern coastal seascape painting, featuring a crashing wave on a rocky shore, is titled “New Wave”. The painting is by the Oregon artist Paul Gunn, known in the Pacific Northwest for his modernist abstract paintings and prints which have been shown in galleries, juried shows and in museum exhibitions. His artwork is held in museum collections and important private collections. This painting is an excellent example of the artist’s early work.
