MessageBorn in the Philippines, Kate Asis grew up in Calgary, Canada, then moved to Charlotte, NC to pursue her corporate career. Kate and her family now call the Big Island of Hawaii home.
While Kate spent many years as a business manager, creativity has always been a driving force in her life. She is skilled in acrylic pour painting, resin art, graphic design and creative writing. Her painting, "Galaxy Rising" was awarded 2nd place at the 2022 Huaka'i Juried Art Competition, sponsored by the Waimea Arts Council.
Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer, Kate initially pursued fluid art as a therapeutic activity. Her art practice has quickly evolved with passion and purpose. Kate started Breathing Space Hawaii Fine Art and Crafts as a platform to share her love for Hawaii. The islands' rich history, lush landscapes and breathtaking views all serve as powerful inspiration. Her goal is to create paintings and home décor to fill her clients' homes with bold, colorful pieces that evoke positive emotions and uplift spirits.
The Waimea Arts Council, a 501(c)3 Hawaii non-profit, is the Island of Hawaii's oldest art organization. Established 1974.
