At 11000 ft of altitude, summer comes slowly to the high tundra and jagged outcrops in the Rocky Mountains. The last bits of winter snow often remain until the first new snow of the next fall. The air here is crisp and clean. The atmosphere is thin, so colors appear bright and sunlight pierces the air with little dust or haze to dim it's rays. The Beartooth Mountains of Montana hold beauty and brilliance.
