Laura Green creates vibrant acrylic paintings of wildlife and landscapes
which convey the emotional connection between humans and nature.
Using her experiences from hiking and traveling, she constructs vivid
environments with native species of plants and animals. Loose
brushstrokes and bold colors evoke the thrill of interacting with the
wilderness, such as a coyote peeking through the bushes or a bird singing
from the branches. Her work reflects a deep personal connection to nature
combined with a sense of urgency to protect the fragile environments that
surround us.
Green received a certificate in Art and The Creative Process at UCSD
Extension in 2022, and a post-bacc in Studio Arts from UC Berkeley
Extension in 2023. She regularly participates in public projects to exhibit
her work in public spaces, such as with the city of Solana Beach and local
library branches. She also works with local environmental groups to create
awareness of local nature for utility boxes and has sold her wildlife
paintings at the Tijuana River estuary visitor center since 2023.
