  • Artist: Tony Ingrisano

Anthony “Tony” Ingrisano is a Cleveland-based visual artist and instructor at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where he teaches in the Painting and Foundation departments. He earned his MFA from Pratt Institute and has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group shows in New York and Cleveland.

Ingrisano’s work is concerned with the abstractions of visual information and the relational truth that is lost in transformation. Using land maps, airport runways, electrical grids, architectural plans, and other visual languages as his starting point, he creates new ways of seeing and communicating. His drawings and paintings are rooted in process, exploring divergent subject matter and a deep reverence for color theory.

He is also a contributing essayist to the book Living and Sustaining a Creative Life by Sharon Louden. His work is represented by Lesley Heller Workspace in New York.
