A Legacy of Earth and Fire

Born in Venezuela, Laura Ward carries the artistic spirit of the ancient Arawak artisans, whose creativity left an enduring mark on the region. Since making Barbados her home in 1991, she has become renowned for her distinctive Amerindian-inspired ceramics, blending tradition with contemporary artistry.

In 1994, she founded Earth and Fire Studio, where she not only crafts one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces but also produces curated collections that celebrate the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Caribbean.

"The process of creation is deeply personal—shaped by the vessel, the landscape, and the stories they hold."

Laura’s work is a testament to the intimate connection between artist, earth, and fire—bringing history to life through each carefully sculpted form.
