Honestly Ive fallen in love with misery
It seems like the smart thing to do
since there is no way out
No end in sight

the futility of being and
the pointlessness of struggle
drown me more with every breath
Its all the stupid things I do to feel again -
the addiction to the fight
of never letting go
of being a victim

I am without thought of such good things in this moment
or any really moment beyond now.
The future looms as
the impending fall of the great wave
And
I find I am cold beneath the shadow it casts

When... a whisper from within -
but a voice not mine
turns my cheek
To a stream of light -
When profound longing in my chest
Knows fulfillment
and the tears that fall carry loneliness away from my soul
Falling as the overflow from a fitted whole -

when the promise to be embraced
beholds me more then any arms ive ever known
and the whisper of love that follows
is a gentile breath
on the ember becoming coal
