  • Artist: Khin Maung Zaw

Khin Maung Zaw (born 1970 in Myeik, Myanmar) is a celebrated Burmese artist known for his luminous watercolour and oil paintings that capture the beauty, light, and cultural essence of Myanmar. A graduate of the State School of Fine Arts, Yangon (Painting, 1991; Sculpture, 1994), he was mentored by masters such as U Lun Gywe and U Myint Lwin. Initially trained in sculpture, he later turned to painting, winning early recognition for his expressive technique and delicate use of light. His works—often depicting monastic life, landscapes, and traditional Burmese scenes—have been exhibited across Asia, Europe, and the U.S. Khin Maung Zaw’s art reflects his desire to convey the gentleness, peace, and timeless spirit of his homeland.
