In the artist's own words: "The stone-like surfaces is reminiscent of rocks and yet have a contemporary twist that provides an element of intrigue to visitors. The bench is concrete which as cast upside down in sand and has areas of glass mosaic and ceramic tile inlaid into it. The backrest has inlaid glass on one side and a band or “river” of ceramic tile that flows down the length of each seat."
Tom & Jean Latka of Pueblo created a natural stone-like sculptural bench that reflects the surrounding landscape of the prairie and mountains. This work is part of the 2012 Sculptural Bench Project
