Son of artist James Gooch (1790-1872) and Sarah Easter Carlton (1798-1866). Married Mary Ann Boult (1808-74) on March 23, 1850. Followed in the footsteps of his father and became an artist, later becoming a professor of painting. Buried in Kingston-Upon-Thames, Surrey, England.
