THIS IS Z.
?
They call us Global Nomads. I was born in Syria, I grew up in UAE, I received British and American Education and now I’m in Norway. I’m a citizen of the world, a woman of the “Third Culture”. I belong to no where, yet I represent everybody.
My multicultural background is a huge driver to my creativity. Having lived in Dubai, a city with more than 300 nationalities, I got the chance to meet people from every corner of the world. I was able to connect with people from all cultures and religions. The environments I was exposed to allowed and inspired me to create work that speaks an international language, or in many cases, diferent languages.
One of my most notable work was a photographic series titled "Love, Peace and Forgiveness " which showcased tolerance between religions. It eventually gained a lot of recognition and earned me an award. Another project was a set of posters I produced as a student also tackling the peace subject which were later featured in a TV interview and exhibited in Qatar. Further to that, I worked on a series of banners that shed light on national and international issues such as the Arab revolution, starvation in Somalia and the Japan Tsunami, just to name a few. There isn't simply one area that interests me more than the other. I'm inspired by beauty, by humans, by art.
My work can be seen at:
