This piece was created for the Midland Area Cultural Awareness Coalition's 2025 Creativity Contest, the theme being "Diversity Is Beauty And Strength". Diversity is built into our creation - it is an intrinsic part of nature, each difference in appearance and function between plants, insects, and animals playing a specific, important role. We cannot marvel at all the variance in a field of flowers, or the birds flying overhead but at the same time despise it in our fellow human beings. Just like in nature, our differences in culture, background, and the way our minds work bring value and are integral to a functioning society.
