This border-only pattern features picture medallions, four prominent leaves, small flowers, and fine scrolls. Within the picture medallions are sailboats, a castle and a large country house.

Whittaker & Co. was part of a brief series of partnerships of earthenware manufacturers, operating the Hallfield Pottery, built in 1882, in Hanley, Staffordshire.
