Collection: Canadian Wildlife
The Canadian Wildlife Collection is an ongoing body of work exploring moments of stillness within Canada’s natural world. Each painting focuses on a single animal or quiet landscape element, inviting reflection rather than spectacle. Rather than depicting wildlife in motion or drama, I am drawn to pauses—those brief encounters where presence, memory, and place intersect.
Using layered textures and a process that evolves from inks into mixed media and oil, I emphasize atmosphere and emotional resonance over strict realism. The animals become carriers of meaning—symbols of resilience, solitude, and the fragile balance between nature and human observation.
This collection is rooted in my lived experience of Canadian landscapes and continues to grow, with new species and environments added as the work evolves.
