Gallery Purchase

This photograph was on display as part of Alvin C. Jacob Jr.'s exhibition Three Steps Back: A Call to Action, originally presented at Davidson’s Cunningham Theatre Center during the Theatre Department’s production of Facing Our Truth – six 10-minute plays on the topics of Trayvon Martin, race, and privilege.

The five photographs by Jacobs in the college’s art collection capture protests following the 2016 election of Donald Trump and the September 2016 murder of Keith Lamont Scott, an African American, who was fatally shot by Brentley Vinson, an African American police officer, in Charlotte, N.C., where Jacobs lives.
