The works "Hook" and "Ribbon" feature the movement that is characteristic of his works. The sharp contrast of black and white marks trails the eye of the viewer across the image. Both are centered using bright colors to create a three-dimensional illusion, hence including features of sculpture. While there is an intense movement within the image, the thick black border offers a sense of containment. Thinking about his larger theme of the blurring between art and life, this strict juxtaposition of the containment and the movement within seems to allude to bodily restrictions.
