SEEN IN MY ROOM: Genie (Peony), by Oliver Poduschnick ’25
In Jiha Moon's fluid and expressive practice, she combines motifs and techniques from her native Korea with threads from the Western art canon and imagery from the digital age—her work comments on globalization, the fluidity of identity, and the information overload of contemporary society. Moon’s vivid paintings, ceramics, prints, sculptures, and installations combine the visual lexicons of Korean temple painting and folk art with Disney cartoons, restaurant menus, and abstract calligraphic gestures.
