Artist: William Wylie (American, b. 1937)
American artist. He received his MFA at the University of Michigan in 1989, and is a professor at the University of Virginia. He teaches photography and is known for his research into how spaces are transformed by people and other forces. His photographs and films are known both nationally and internationally, receiving multiple fellowships including a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2005. His work can be found in permanent collections of the National Gallery of Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, etc. American photographer and videographer. He has worked as a professor of art at various universities. He has published 4 books of his photographs. His research focuses on how spaces are transformed by various forces. In 2005, Wylie recieved a Guggenheim Fellowship for his photography.
