Artist: Vaino Kola (Finnish, b. 1937)
Finniah painter, printmaker and pastel artist. Kola earned his BFA at the Massachusetts College of Art and his M.F.A. from Yale University. Kola later taught Art at Wheaton College, Massachusetts. He currently retired to Deer Island, Maine to paint full time. His focus is primarily landscapes. Kola's work appears photo-realistic from a distance, but on close inspection are textured, pointilist brush strokes. His work has been featured internationally, across the US and Europe.
