Artist: Tom Phillips (British, b. 1937)
British painter, printmaker, and collagist. Attended St. Catherine’s College and Ruskin School simultaneously in order to study English and drawing, then later attended Camberwell School of Art. He taught at Bath Academy of Art, Ipswich and Wolverhampton Art College from 1965-1972. His first solo exhibition was at the Artists International Association Gallery in London in 1965, when he won a prize at The John Moores Liverpool Exhibition in 1969. HIs works were also exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in 1989, the Royal Academy of Arts in 1993, and the Dulwich Picture Gallery in 1997.
