American illustrator and artist. While traveling across remote areas in Mexico, Peru, and Indonesia, Schneebaum worked on many paintings and drawings. He is known for his lifelong-work as anthropologist-artist of the Asmat people in Papua, Indonesia, where he documented Asmat art in illustrations. His life's work can be seen in a documentary film about his life in Indonesia: “Keep the River on Your Right: A Modern Cannibal Tale.”
