Artist: Terrence Karpowicz (American, b. 1948)
Karpowicz is an American sculptor who received his BFA from Albion College in Michigan. He initially began his painting career in New York, but was inspired by Mark di Suvero to try sculpture and thus pursued sculpture in the graduate program at University of Illinois. He was awarded a Fullbright-Hayes fellowship (UK), 2 National Endowment for the Arts awards, 4 grants from the Illinois Arts Council, The Newhouse Award, and was a Scholar to the Wind and Watermill Section of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. His works have been exhibited across North America, Europe, and the Soviet Union.
