American painter. Earned her BA and MFA degrees from Kent State University and Cranbrook Academy of Art. She is a Fulbright fellowship recipient and has taught at several colleges and universities in four states. She lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina with her partner, sculptor Paul Sires. The two artists opened Center Of The Earth Gallery, an award winning commercial art gallery. Ruth Ava Lyons has exhibited in numerous spaces including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Hearst Corporation, and National Museum for Women in the Arts.
