Artist: Robert Stackhouse (American, b. 1942)
Robert Stackhouse (b. 1942) is an artist from Bronxville, New York who is known for his minimalist sculptures, prints, and watercolors. He describes his sculptures as transformations, turning two-dimensional planes into the three-dimensional by elevating them with wooden beams. Stackhouse earned a bachelor's degree at the University of South Florida in 1965, and soon acquired a master's degree in studio art at the University of Maryland, College Park in 1967. Since then, his work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions, including the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C, The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and Pace Prints in New York, NY.
