Artist: Robert Natkin (American, 1930-2010)
American abstract painter. Natkin exhibited solo at the San Francisco Museum of Art and was part of the “Young America” exhibition (1960) at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. He was greatly influenced by William de Kooning and Paul Klee, and was important to the Lyrical Abstraction, Color Field and Abstract Expressionist movements. His works are exhibited today at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Hirshorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C., the Whitney Museum of American Art and other places.
