  • Artist: Pierre Alechinsky (Belgian, b. 1927)

Pierre Alechinsky (born 1927) is a Belgian painter and printmaker. Although born in Belgium, he has established his practice in Paris, France. Alechinsky studied at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture et des Arts Décoratifs. His work, influenced by Japanese art and calligraphy, is notable for its vibrant, expressive style. He is also recognized for founding the avant-garde CoBrA group, which was influential in the development of modern art.
