Artist: Peter Agostini (Italian-American, 1913-1993)
Peter Agostini (1913–1993) was an Italian-American sculptor. He began his art studies at the Leonardo da Vinci Art School in his youth and later moved to New York, where his work significantly influenced abstract expressionism and the American pop art movement. Agostini taught sculpture and painting at Columbia University, New York Studio School, Parsons School of Design, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His career included over 25 solo exhibitions and participation in more than 100 group shows.
