  • Artist: Paul Van Hoeydonck (Belgian, 1925-2025)

Paul Van Hoeydonck was a Belgian international painter and sculptor who graduated from the Antwerp Higher Education Institute. His work evolved from still life to geometric abstraction. He is known for monochrome paintings and the use of plexiglass supports. Van Hoeydonck has a strong interest in technology and industry, which culminated in his series "City of the Future" during the 1950s. His artwork often incorporates daily-life objects and materials, highlighting a shift from a technological dream to a nightmare. He is also notable for being the first artist to have his work placed on the Moon.
