Artist: Oscar DeMejo (American/Italian, 1911-1992)
Born in Trieste, De Mejo was first a trained lawyer, then jazz composer, and finally a painter and children's book illustrator. His work is characterized by a primitive and surrealist style. He wrote as well as illustrated several children's books including, "Does God Have a Big Toe?", "Hand in the Sky", and "The Tiny Visitor".
