  • Artist: Naomi Savage (American, 1927-2005)

American photographer. Her apprenticeship under her uncle, Man Ray, influenced her artistic approach and process, for example, adopting “process as medium” and art as image manipulation. She experimented extensively with photogravure and photoengraving for aesthetic effects rather than duplication. She explored subject matters through innovative techniques and combining diverse media. Collected works found in venues such as Museum of Modern Art, Art Institute of Chicago, International Center for Photography, and Madison Art Center.
