Artist: Mark Klett (American, b. 1952)
Klett earned his BS in geology from St. Lawrence University and his MFA in photography from SUNY Buffalo. His focus is in landscape photography in the Western US. Klett often collaborated with Byron Wolfe, making exhibitions that juxtapose the two artists' photographic representations of the same landscape. Klett's works also feature the passage of time and the imperceptible, gradual changes within a landscape. He has been featured internationally at venues including the George Eastman House in Rochester, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
