Artist: Marilyn Bridges (American, b. 1948)
American photographer. Bridges studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She began her career in aerial photography flying over the Peruvian desert's Nazca Lines. She has also photographed ancient Mayan sites in the Yucatan, the Valley of the Kings along the Nile, Native American archaeological sites, megalithic monuments in Britain and Brittany and many other sitesall over the world. Her work has been exhibited at the American Museum of Natural History, in her published books, and national and international gallery settings. She received a Fulbright Scholarship, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1982, and many other awards for her published works. She used a medium format film camera, silver gelatin and selenium tone.
