Artist: Lee Krasner (American, 1908-1984)
American female abstract painter and collage artist during the heydays of abstract expressionism. Krasner completed her studies in National Academy of Design and was involved in mural works of Works Progress Administration's Public Works of Art Project (WPA) as well as American Abstract Artists. Many of her works such as her series, Little Image, were inspired by Henri Matisse and Piet Mondrian. Krasner is known for working with multi-media collage after her marriage with Jackson Pollock. Her work was often shadowed by her husband's work.
