Artist: Kubo Shunman (Japanese, 1757-1820)
Japanese painter and writer. Born 1757 in Tokyo, Japan, Shunman produced ukiyo-e prints and studied the Chinese Shen Quan style. His work is recognizable for his elegant scenes and consistent use of muted color schemes. Shunman was additionally a member of a poetry society and later in his career moved away from commercial prints to produce commissioned work that included his writings.
