Artist: Jacques de Gheyn (Dutch, 1565-1629)
A Dutch painter and engraver born in Antwerp. His works demonstrates the transitional phase from Nothern Mannerism to Dutch realism. He was trained by Jacob de Gheyn and Hendrik Goltzius. His first comission was by the Prince Maurits to create an engraving of the Seig of Geetruidenberg. He created many subsequent paintings and engravings for Dutch royalty.
